From Real World Data till Real World Evidence

About the course

How can we use Real World Data (RWD) and Real World Evidence (RWE), meaning data and evidence that have not been collected through traditional clinical trials, to make patient care more efficient and improve it? The lectures in the course are both in Swedish and English.

Who should attend?

People who come into contact with RWD/RWE within the industry (pharmaceuticals/medical technology), regions, authorities, and academia.

For example, you work in marketing and sales as a KAM (Key Account Manager), MSL (Medical Science Liaison), or Evidence Manager and want to deepen your knowledge of how to use RWE in areas such as product launches, follow-ups, agreements, and market access.

The training is also suitable for those working with, for example, RWE analysis within regions, academia, or authorities.

Training Objectives

Understanding Real World Data and Real World Evidence: Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of what Real World Data and Real World Evidence are, including their significance and applications within the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries, as well as in healthcare.

Applying RWD and RWE in Practice: Participants will learn how to collect, analyze, and interpret RWD to create RWE, focusing on practical applications. This includes understanding relevant regulations, agreements, and being able to use tools and methods for conducting RWE analysis.

Project Planning: Participants will develop skills in planning and implementing RWD/RWE projects that meet specific market needs. They will be able to create and present project plans, as well as understand how RWE can be used to support product launches, market surveillance, and improvements in patient care.

Course outline

During this two-day course, you will get an overview of Real World Data (RWD) and its applications within the lifecycle of pharmaceutical or medical technology products. We will cover basic principles and practical applications of RWD, as well as explore regulations, agreements, and real-life case studies to understand how RWD works in practice.

The course also includes a group project where participants have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to create project plans for RWD/RWE projects aimed at addressing specific market needs. There will also be an opportunity to submit your own questions prior to the course.

Finally, the course will feature an inspiring lecture highlighting how RWD is used to improve healthcare.
