Call for abstracts Young Scientist DAY
Young Scientist Day is a satellite day of the Scheele Symposium with the intention to bring young scientists together in an informal way discussing their science with the winner of the Scheele Award and other successful senior scientists in the field.
This year's winner of the Scheele Award is Professor Charles L Sawyers, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA, with the following motivation ”For his outstanding contribution in life science. Professor Sawyers’s work has led to insights into the molecular mechanisms that cause tumor resistance to cancer drugs which have paved the way for the development of new, effective treatments. These drugs have led to increased survival for many patients.”
The Young Scientist Day is therefore focusing on prostate cancer and leukemia or related targeted medicine in cancer. Write an abstract for a poster presentation and use this great opportunity to present and interact with other doctoral student/senior scientist within the area targeted cancer therapy. During the day the Scheele-award 2017 prize-winner Professor Charles L Sawyers and Professor Thomas Helleday, Karolinska Institutet will share their experiences and reflections on how to succeed in science.

Submit your abstract by sending an email to jeanette.jansson@lakemedelsakademin.se at the latest October 6. The best poster will be awarded Young Scientist Award 2017 prize, consisting of a cash prize of SEK 10 000.
